The Informant (or source of information) provides information on a person that provides relevant information, such as the parent of a comatose patient who describes the patient's behavior prior to the onset of coma. An informant can be a person in one of two roles; an person not formally identified in the system (e.g. a parent or guy on the street) or an identified member of the care team. The non-formally identified informant bears some formal or personal relationship to the patient and the nature of the relationship with the patient can be captured.
