Hereditary mixed polyposis syndrome (HMPS) describes an autosomal dominantly inherited large-bowel disease with characteristics of the presence of a mixture of hyperplastic, atypical juvenile and adenomatous polyps that are associated with an increased risk of developing colorectal cancer if left untreated.
