Charité COVID Intensive Care Data Hub
Description
With the advent of the electronic health record (EHR) in the care of critically ill patients high-frequency clinical information are being continuously captured for all admissions to the intensive care unit (ICU). The resulting 'big  data' data sets may help to gain novel insights into critical illnesses  and to help better guide patient care. However, there are numerous barriers in working with these data that need to be overcome. The size and messiness require advanced data management and substantial data science skills. Clinically informed data wrangling strategies have to be developed and deployed to in order to reshape the data. The goal of this project Charité COVID Intensive Care Data Hub (COV-ICD) is to develop these strategies while building a standardized research database from EHR data of critically ill COVID-19 patients.
